ABOUT CORE SPORTS FOUNDATION
Core Sports Foundation was founded in 2015 with goals to actively shape, empower, and and mold the next generation of student athletes and community leaders. The organization mission is to develop life-skills in student athletes in order to build high character, better understand themselves, and to create and foster a servant leadership based mentality.
OUR PROGRAMS
EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT
Students will have access to free tutoring. Program mentors will actively be involved in the student educational process. There will be regular meetings to establish appropriate educational goals. Students will be equipped with study skills, time management skills, and other skills that will promote educational excellence.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Our Student athletes will have the chance to give back to the community through our monthly service projects, such as feeding the homeless, reading to elementary school students, adopting a family, beach clean-up, food drives, clothing drives, and backpack drives. Our student athletes will come to find that giving back to the community will develop a sense of accountability to human kind, a sense of pride, a sense of personal satisfaction, and an understanding of privilege.
CAREER EXPLORATION
As apart of an ongoing assessment CSFÂ will expose student athletes to various career development opportunities. Our experienced and diverse staff will offer the following programs and trainings: Career Interests assessments, Resume and Cover letter writing, Job interview skills, and various guest speakers in fields of interests.
CORE TANK - ENTREPRENEURSHIP
In addition to career training and exploration student athletes will partake in an annual entrepreneurship program where they will conceptualize a business, develop a business plan and pitch their business at the end of the year. The winner will win a $500 business grant.
FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM
We believe that success and financial wisdom go hand and hand. Core Sports Foundation partners with local financial professionals to educate our student athletes on how to manage money including an understanding of budgeting, savings, debt, insurance, investments, hoe buying, and taxes throughout our 8 week program.
